CATERING FOR ALL AGES
10Fest is the name Council has given to the series of
events during Youth Week 2010.
Held from April 10 -- 18, Moorabool Shire Youth Ser vices
have organised a raft of activities designed to get young
people active and creative.
The week-long series of celebrations and events as par t of
Youth Week 2010 have organised in conjunction with
Victoria Police, Bacchus Mar sh College , Moor abool
Agencies and Schools Together and many of the young
people in the community.

(Bacchus Marsh) Held at Rotary Park.
, Underage Disco (Ballan Mechanics Institute)
A fully super vised, dr ug and alcohol free event will feature
a live DJ smashing out all the latest hits. Be sure to get your
dancing shoes on.

Also running is a Body Image Youth Forum, date to be
advised as well as Teachers/Agencies versus Students
Netball/Basketball Comp, in conjunction with Bacchus
Mar sh Secondar y College.

MAKING THE IMPORTANT
Families who are new to Moorabool, have special needs or
are dealing with post-natal issues are among those being
catered for in a new playgroup initiative to Moorabool
The Stepping Out Playgroup was established and star ted in
the Moorabool Shire in November 2009, as par t of a
government-funded Suppor ted Playgroup Initiative .
The Stepping Out Playgroup is a Suppor ted Playgroup,
aimed at connecting families in the community and offering
suppor t and resources to enhance the early development
of young children.
Suppor ted playgroups offer you oppor tunities to share
ideas, decide on activities for your children, engage with
guest speakers and take par t in a structured routine.
Currently there is one playgroup running out of the
Lerderderg Children's Centre and there are plans for two
The Stepping Out Playgroup provides a facilitator and aims
to give you suppor t until you develop the confidence to
move into larger community run playgroups.
In December, our Stepping Out playgroup took par t in
Christmas ar t activities, group activities with the children
and enjoyed some singing and movement games.
If you or your family are feeling socially isolated,
disadvantaged or perhaps you have recently arrived from
another country, then the Stepping Out Playgroup can
offer oppor tunities for you and your child to socialise with
other parents and children through conver sation, fun and
