JOIN IN THE PLAYGROUP FUN
Children, mothers, fathers, grandparents, in fact anyone who cares
for young children are invited to come along to the Blackwood
Playgroup held each Friday morning between 10am and noon at
the Blackwood Hall.
The playgroup is growing each week, providing a safe, fun place
for parents and children to meet and make friends over a coffee
and a chat.
Families participate in a range of activities that help children extend
and practise new skills, including music, painting, climbing and
There is a small weekly cost of $3 and an annual membership of
Playgroup Victoria of $25 (or $15 for HCC holders).
Moorabool Shire Council supports the Blackwood Playgroup
through the Supported Playgroup Initiative.
A facilitator attends each week to support members and to offer
community information and resources.

Moorabool Shire Council would like to welcome our new
fellow Australians to the Moorabool Community.
On March 17, Moorabool Shire Council held an Australian
Citizenship Ceremony in the Council Chambers, Ballan and
welcomed our new friends and citizens:

Moorabool Shire Council Mayor Pat Griffin performed the
official proceedings and then joined our new citizens, their
families and friends, and Pauline Lawless of the Australian
Electoral Commission for supper.
Entertainment was provided by Megan Waddington of ‘Chime’ .

Managing difficult behaviour in children from 2-12 years
Is your child’s behaviour a challenge?
In times of stress parenting can be a challenge for all of us. If we all
had a simple way to deal with these challenges, family life would
be more focused on the positive things.
1-2-3 Magic is easy to learn - and it works!
The program is run over 2 sessions, and introduces parents to
strategies to assist with managing difficult behaviours.
The program includes:
Managing difficult behaviour
Encouraging good behaviour
Strengthening your relationship with your child
1-2 -3 Magic is open to Moorabool Shire residents.
The program is facilitated by trained 1-2 -3 Magic practitioners.
