By completing a direct debit authority form, you can
nominate a suitable account with your bank, credit union or
building society to have your rates and charges automatically
deducted from your account. To apply for your payments
to be direct debited from your nominated account, contact
Council's Revenue Services Unit.
Rural Road Numbering
In an emergency, every second counts. A rural property
address will help emergency services locate your property
more quickly and precisely.
If your property isn't correctly numbered, or if your property
number is not clearly displayed, it can be extremely difficult
for emergency services such as the CFA, Ambulance, Police
and SES to find where they need to go.
The Department of Environment and Primary Industries, in
a recent audit of the Moorabool area found that generally
property numbers are well displayed and correctly placed.
However, there are some properties in need of attention.
It is the property owner or the occupier's responsibility to
install and maintain their street numbers.
Owners and occupiers of all properties should have a street
number properly affixed and displayed at the front of their

now over 10 years out of date. All such obsolete numbers

additions or a new home or garage, etc, will be subject to
a Supplementary Valuation by Council's Contract Valuer
to update the assigned valuations to the property. When
the valuation is completed, a pro rata Supplementary
Rate is levied for the remainder of the current rating year.

other reasons, including disposition of part of a property,
consolidation, subdivision, or as a result of a successful

Third Party Authorisation
If you wish Council to discuss details associated with your
property with someone who is not registered as the property
owner, due to privacy restrictions the owner(s) must write to
Council naming, in full, any person(s) they deem authorised
to obtain or discuss information pertaining to their property
Residents and businesses are required to prominently display
their street number on their property. This is essential to
ensure that people, especially emergency services, can
quickly locate and identify the correct address. The numbers
should be reflective and not obscured.
